There’s nothing like going on holiday.
From the glorious weather to the total relaxation to the endless cocktails – there are so many things to look forward to when you jet off on your travels. That’s if it all goes to plan, of course.
One woman was recently left a little surprised when she visited Turkey for a break in the sun. She woke up to torrential rain, and couldn’t get over it.
Kylie, known as englandandeverywhere on TikTok, often documents her travels and gives people advice on where to bag the best budget deals. She knows a thing or two about travel, but a recent trip left her with a slight dampened spirit.
Sharing a video of the rain, she wrote: “I woke up to a wet hotel room floor, with the bed sheet soaking up a bunch of water.” Not the usual thing you expect to experience while on holiday.
Since the video was shared, it’s been viewed more than 24,000 times, and people were quick to comment. Tourists couldn’t believe just how wet it looked in September.
One person said: “We were at Daisy Beach when it started. Danced on the tables and chairs. It cooled us down as it was still 28. Got back to the hotel and they told us to change. If not, we would get sick.”
Another added: “Love it. Nothing better than sitting watching the rain and storms on holiday.”
A third replied: “It rained Tuesday during the night. I’m here just now – it’s roasting and sunny.”
Lots of people were quick to point out that it only rained for a day or so, but Kylie said it was enough to “flood her hotel room”. Her other videos show off much sunnier weather during her stay.
In her other videos, Kylie also showed off Turkey in all its glory. From the amazing views she encountered to how she managed to budget food.
She also revealed how she pulled off the 100 Lira challenge during her stay to see what £2.25 could get her at the supermarket. For the sum, she managed to bag some Pepsi, two cartons of cherry juice, baklava, five apples, seasome seed crackers and some noodles.
It didn’t seem a bad haul, though some people noted it appears to have become more expensive in the area in recent years.
One person wrote: “How you do that? I couldn’t even get a pack of baby wipes for less than 600 lira in Antalya let alone a chocolate bar.” Another added: “100 Lira was £5 in 2022.”
