Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her mixed doubles match with Andy Murray to end his Wimbledon career. Citing soreness in her right wrist, Raducanu has been unable to recover from her storming victory over Maria Sakkari on Friday evening.
The two-time singles champion has now played his final-ever match at the All England Club, having joined his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles on Thursday before an emotional ceremony on Centre Court commemorated the end of his singles career.
Raducanu breezed into the fourth round of the singles with an impressive victory over Sakkari yesterday, but Murray cannot re-pair with another player and is unable to continue in the mixed doubles. There is no suggestion yet that Raducanu’s involvement in the fourth round against Lulu Sun on Sunday afternoon is in danger.
Raducanu is now the last Briton standing in the singles draws. That’s after Cameron Norrie lost an epic 32-point tiebreak against fourth seed Alexander Zverev, as the German wrapped up a 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (17-15) victory, before Harriet Dart’s run was put to an end following a painful third-set collapse against Xinyu Wang, losing the final six games in a row in a 2-6 7-5 6-3 defeat.
There was a big shock elsewhere in the women’s draw, with World No 1 Iga Swiatek knocked out in the third round by Yulia Putintseva. That followed the exit of Ons Jabeur, the runner-up from the past two years, who was eliminated by Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina. Novak Djokovic is in action in the final match on Centre Court against Alexei Popyrin.

Wimbledon 2024: Iga Swiatek responds to early exit
Iga Swiatek said her “tank was empty” after winning the French Open as the World No 1 crashed out of Wimbledon in the third round .
“I was kind of surprised,” Swiatek said after a three-set defeat to Yulia Putintseva. “But I know what I did wrong after Roland Garros. I didn’t really rest properly. I’m not going to make this mistake again.
“After such a tough clay court season, I really must have my recovery. Maybe that’s also the reason. But I thought that I’m going to be able to kind of, I don’t know, play at the same level. I feel like on grass I need little bit more of that energy to keep being patient and accept some mistakes.
“Like mentally, I didn’t really do that well on this tournament. I need to recover better after clay court season, both physically and mentally.”

Elena Rybakina won Wimbledon in 2022, reached the quarter-finals in 2023 and is looking strong again at the All England Club after thrashing the returning Caroline Wozniacki 6-0 6-1 on Court One.
Utterly ruthless from Rybakina, who moves on to play Anna Kalinskaya, the 17th seed.

Wimbledon 2024: *Novak Djokovic 4-6 3-1 Alexei Popyrin – BREAK!
What a response from Djokovic. Popyrin had break point at 1-1, but Djokovic saves and then wins a string of points to set up the chance with a backhand. There, he takes it. Back on.

Wimbledon 2024: *Novak Djokovic 4-6 Alexei Popyrin – SET!
Djokovic is behind on Centre Court as Alexei Popyrin takes the opening set with a second-serve ace that skipped past the 24-time grand slam champion. That was quite an even set but Popyrin took his single chance.
Djokovic heads off the court and is in conversation with the referee Denise Parnell. They are going to close the roof. Not really sure why they even opened it as play is now fully suspended on the outside courts.
