A lot has changed since Doug Pederson led the Eagles over Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Patriots in 2018. Pederson has since become the head coach of the Jaguars, the Belichick and Brady era has ended, and both the Jags and Pats have started 2024 at 1-5. 

That said, there’s plenty of reason for both teams to be optimistic about their Week 7 matchup at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday. 

The Patriots promoted rookie QB and No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye to starter last week, and he finished with 281 total yards and three TDs against the Texans.

The UNC product looked much more explosive than season-opening starter Jacoby Brissett, as it marked the first time New England put three TDs on the board since New Year’s Eve 2024.

As for Jacksonville, the hope is that power-back Tank Bigsby and pass-catching tight end Evan Engram can help QB and former No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence out of his funk. TLaw has averaged just 222 passing yards per game with a completion rate under 61 percent and a QB rating under 90. 

That said, the Jags are presumably more comfortable playing in the United Kingdom. Jacksonville plays multiple games in London each year, while this marks just the third game in London for the Patriots.
