AN England cricket supporter has been dubbed the “coolest fan ever” after pulling off a sensational one-handed catch.
The man was busy downing pints when he became the unexpected star of the show during the first test of the third day as England faced Sri Lanka.
In the 83rd over of the innings, Asitha Fernando fired a fast bowl at Mark Wood.
But the 34-year-old managed to hit a six as the ball flew over the boundary and into the crowd.
The Sri Lankan fielders were never getting near it – but one fan in the crowd was able to pull off the catch of the day.
He effortlessly raised his right arm and plucked the ball out of the sky to huge roars from those around him.
The fan did it while holding four pint cups and only spilling a tiny bit of beer on his jumper.
England coach Paul Collingwood saw the catch and could be seen laughing while saying: “He’s got a pint.”
Sky Sports’ commentator also gasped: “What a catch. He’s got four pints in his hand.”
The fan coolly lapped up the celebrations by saluting the crowd and giving everyone a thumbs up.

A second reacted: “A man in the crowd four pints deep making a one-handed catch look easier than the professionals taking a regular catch, unreal sport.”
The Sun’s Piers Morgan tweeted: “Greatest catch in cricket fan history. Take a bow, sir!”
Wood was eventually bowled out by Fernando for 22.
