A major British fashion retailer is closing down its Crewe town centre store due to debt issues, just six months after it relocated to a new unit.
Select Fashion, The Market Shopping Centre is expected to cease trading in early 2025, after closing down signs were placed in the shop window this January.
The women’s clothing chain only relocated from Earle Street to The Market Shopping Centre on July 27, 2024.

Nub News understands the business is in a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), with multiple locations closing or already closed.
CVAs are an insolvency process specific to the UK. According to GOV.UK, they provide a way for businesses to pay off their debts over a fixed period.
Select Fashion is operating in the former Furniture Outlet and Roman Originals unit, located next door to Pep & Co.
Founded in the early 1980s, Select Fashion’s head office is currently located in Kentish Town, London.
Select Fashion relocated from Earle Street in July 2024, a unit it had occupied since 2015 (Ryan Parker).
The UK retailer sells products including clothing, bags, footwear, jewellery and accessories, with various options for children.
As of 2024, Select Fashion operates 105 stores nationwide. It is currently owned by Turkish entrepreneur Cafer Mahiroğlu.
