Remember when Ugonna Onyenso was all-in on the NBA Draft?
It appears the Kentucky Wildcats center may wisely be considering a return to college.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Onyenso is entering the transfer portal, signaling that a return to college is very much on the table, but don’t expect it to be Kentucky.
NEWS: Kentucky center Ugonna Onyenso has entered the transfer portal, source told ESPN. He announced earlier this month he was entering the NBA draft.

In 24 games as a true sophomore this past season, Onyenso averaged 3.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks in 18.8 minutes per game. He missed the start of the season after suffering a foot injury at the GLOBL Jam that required surgery. He made his 2023-24 debut in the December win over North Carolina.
Onyenso is not projected to be drafted this year, so a return to college would be the smart move.
With the Cats landing a pledge from Drexel center Amari Williams, Mark Pope has his starting 5 man for next season, so losing Onyenso won’t be a big setback.
Best of luck to Ugo wherever he lands next.
