No. 15 Kentucky basketball returns to Rupp Arena tonight to host No. 5 Tennessee.
It’s the second matchup of the season for the two teams, with the Wildcats winning the first battle down in Knoxville a couple of weeks ago.
Tonight, Kentucky enters the second battle without star guard Jaxson Robinson. He was declared OUT yesterday, with the injury designation citing a wrist injury he apparently re-aggravated in Saturday’s win over South Carolina.
While the injury bug continues to bite Kentucky, they at least have Lamont Butler back for the second consecutive game. Though he didn’t have a “stellar” game filling up the box score on Saturday, his presence was definitely felt on the defensive end while also helping Kentucky penetrate on offense and move the basketball more efficiently.
The Wildcats enter tonight’s game as slight underdogs with the Volunteers favored by two and a half points. ESPN’s Basketball Power Index gives Kentucky a 46.3% chance to win.
Tip-off for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7 PM ET with coverage on ESPN.
Buckle down and get stops.
