More than 600 people attended the jobs fair, which was hosted by MP for Huntingdon Ben Obese-Jecty in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions.
The four-hour event featured around 50 employers and aimed to connect jobseekers with local businesses and organisations, with at least one job being offered on the spot.
Held at the Burgess Hall, St Ives, the event featured a diverse array of employers from various industries, all eager to meet enthusiastic candidates and discuss job opportunities.
Attendees had the chance to explore job vacancies, receive career advice, and network, with many feeling encouraged and optimistic about their future employment prospects.
Mr Obese-Jecty said: “I am delighted by the overwhelming response to our Jobs Fair. It’s incredibly rewarding to see so many people engaging with employers, seizing new opportunities, and even securing job offers on the day.”
“Huntingdon is an area with a huge amount of potential and I’m passionate about seeing new opportunities for everybody as this area grows and thrives.”
“I want to thank all the businesses, jobseekers, and the DWP for their support in making this event possible. Providing quality job opportunities is a priority, and I look forward to hosting another fair later this year.”
The event marks the beginning of an annual event showcasing jobs available in Huntingdon and St Ives.
