Tomorrow night’s game vs. Lipscomb will only stream on SEC Network+, but you’ve got an added incentive to watch it “on the computer.” Former Kentucky Basketball great Travis Ford will serve as the analyst on the broadcast, alongside Andrew Kappes.

Ford played for Rick Pitino from 1991-94, transferring to Kentucky from Missouri. As a Wildcat, the Madisonville native was named All-SEC and SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player in his junior and senior years and Southeast Region Most Outstanding Player in the 1993 NCAA Tournament. He ranks in the top ten in program history in career three-point field goals made (No. 6, 190), career assists (No. 9, 428), and assists per game (No. 6, 4.28), and top five in career three-point field goal percentage (No. 3, .445) and single-season three-point field goals made (No. 4, 101, 1993).

After a brief stint in acting (did you know he was in the 1997 movie The 6th Man alongside Marlon Wayans and Kadeem Hudson?), Ford got his coaching start at Campbellsville in 1997 and in 2000, accepted the job at Eastern Kentucky. In 2005, he led the Colonels to the NCAA Tournament, where they gave Kentucky quite a battle in the first round before losing 72-64. From there, he coached at UMass (2005-08), Oklahoma State (2008-16), and Saint Louis (2016-2024). He has a career coaching record of 491-366 (.573).

Ford was the “Y” at the Kentucky Wesleyan exhibition earlier this season, so he’s seen this Kentucky team firsthand. Although he and Mark Pope never played together, it’ll be great to hear his perspective both as a former player and coach.
