Before we move on from Manchester United, just a quick additional line from manager Erik ten Hag on his relationship with Jadon Sancho.
While reports continue to circulate that the English winger is wanted by Paris St-German, Ten Hag has brought him back into the fold during pre-season following his return from a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho, 24, was cast out of first-team reckoning for much of last season following comments he made – and then deleted – about Ten Hag on social media in response to criticism of his training standards.
Ten Hag told a newspaper briefing, external that the incident was “behind us” following questions about their working relationship.
“We know from each other what the standards are and how we want to work, how we want to collaborate, and we need a good team,” said the United boss.
“We just spoke about the standards, the levels, the abilities. When I took over you need good players to construct a good team and he’s definitely a very good player.”
On whether Sancho apologised for his social media comments: “I think we said everything about it so we left it behind us and I think in our statement it says everything and it was clear and obvious.”
