Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised David Raya for his reaction after the goalkeeper’s error in their north London derby win over Tottenham.
The Gunners were leading 3-0 when Raya tried a dinked pass into midfield but found Tottenham’s Cristian Romero, who placed the ball past the Spaniard.
Son Heung-min then scored a penalty but Arsenal held on to remain top of the Premier League, albeit by just one point after Manchester City’s win at Nottingham Forest later on Sunday.
“It became a game of chaos but we are lucky to have the keeper we have,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
“He made an individual error but after that the way he played was outstanding. He was magnificent.”
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Arteta added: “David Raya stood up and took six, seven crosses and that is what we want, and if you are going to take risks you have that reaction – I am really proud of them.”
