The Board of Directors of Tod’s has appointed John Galantic to be chief executive officer of the group. The Italian luxury footwear giant said Galantic will be based in Milan.
“Galantic’s proven experience in the luxury sector with a specific focus on brand building will help Tod’s Group to increase its growth potential globally,” Tod’s said in a release.
In an already lengthy career, Galantic has held senior management positions based in the US, Italy and France. His last management role was as President and COO of Chanel Inc.
Galantic holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University.
He is also a Board member of Ferrari SpA and Bacardi Ltd.
In his new position, Galantic has also joined the Board of Directors of Tod’s that, together with Diego Della Valle and Andrea Della Valle, respectively Chairman and Vice-chairman, includes Tony Belloni, James Michael Chu, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Domenico De Sole, Romina Guglielmetti, Nikhil Kumar Thukral, Emilio Macellari and Vincenzo Manes.
The decision comes in the wake of the decision of Tod’s to exit the Milan stock market and the entry into its shareholding of an LVMH-controlled investment vehicle.
