It wasn’t the prettiest win, but the Kentucky Wildcats picked up a 78-67 victory over Colgate last night.
Kentucky started strong, jumping out to a 17-0 lead in the first six minutes of action, but then let Colgate back into the game, and led by just two at halftime. Kentucky even trailed early in the second half.
Nonetheless, Kentucky was able to get it going again later in the second half to come away with an 11-point victory and with that game behind us, all eyes are on Saturday.
The rival Louisville Cardinals come to town for what should be an exciting game.
Louisville is coming off a win last night, ending a three-game losing skid by barely escaping against UTEP by a score of 77-74.
Both Kentucky and Louisville have new head coaches, adding another layer of excitement to the game. As a former player, Mark Pope knows just how important this game is, and Pat Kelsey knows how big this game is to the Louisville fanbase.
Saturday should be a fun atmosphere at Rupp Arena.
