Cricket fans will get another glimpse into the Australian dressing room next year, with the third season of The Test documentary series confirmed for Prime Video subscribers.

The highly-popular series has been a major hit in recent years, with the inaugural season giving in-depth detail to the rise of the Test lineup heading into and during the 2019 Ashes campaign against England.

The second season of the show centred around Justin Langer’s departure as head coach, as well as overseas tours against Pakistan and Sri Lanka throughout 2022. 

This time around, the events of the World Test Championship final and the dramatic 2023 Ashes series will be the focal point, with some spicy moments against the old rivals likely to be included.

When will The Test Season 3 be released?

The third season of The Test will be released on May 24.

“Given how dramatic the World Test Championship Final and the Ashes in England were, this season promises to share the riveting moments that took place behind the scenes that have never been shown before,” directors Adrian Brown and Sheldon Wynne said

“As well as the inspiring and emotional stories that show just how much this tour meant to our Australian men’s cricket team.”

How to watch or live stream The Test Season 3

As was the case for the past two seasons, The Test will be shown live and exclusive on Prime Video. 

The streaming platform costs AU$9.99 per month and the series will be included for all subscribers. 

How many episodes will be in The Test Season 3?

At this stage, the number of episodes in The Test has not been revealed.

The first season had eight episodes, while the more recent edition had just four. 

Who will be featured in The Test Season 3?

According to the media release from CA, The Test will provide “unparalleled access to the Australian team during their triumph over Virat Kohli’s India in the ICC World Test Championship and the memorable Ashes retention.” 

Australia emerged victorious in the WTC Final in the UK, before retaining The Ashes against England in the months that followed, with plenty of controversy surrounding the five-game series. 

We can expect the controversy that surrounded Alex Carey’s stumping of Jonny Bairstow to be a focal point.
