Among the decisions to take when planning for a holiday is where to stay overnight.
Many tourists prefer holiday lets to hotels as renting a house allows their party to spend time together in common areas while also having a degree of privacy thanks to separate bedrooms.
The presence of a kitchen and the location of these rentals, often very central when it comes to popular cities, are seen as more perks.
On the other hand, hotels offer a more carefree experience, with most things such as room service and meals often included in the prices.
Staying at a hotel also allows tourists to rely on the services and information provided by front desk staff.

The protests against overtourism that have swept across many holiday hotspots in recent months, particularly in Spain, have taken aim at hotels and tourism rentals, accused of pricing out locals to accommodate more and more holidaymakers.
The increase in demand for tourism lets in particular has reportedly led some landlords in holiday hotspots to kick out their long-term tenants to earn more money with multiple short-term rent contracts for tourists.
Residents in some neighbourhoods such as Tribulete 7 in Madrid have also protested against real estate investments aimed solely at the tourism market – which often result in locals being priced out of their homes.
Madrid is also one of the cities struggling with illegal holiday lets, with the local government noting only about 1,000 out of the 13,500 short-term tourism lets in the city are licenced.
To ease the pressure created by these accommodations on the local population, Spain’s capital Madrid has decided to put the brakes on granting new licences for tourist flats.
