Dozens of jobs in Stoke-on-Trent are under threat after tyre firm Michelin announced it was moving some roles abroad.
The Michelin Group said it was considering moving 39 customer contact centre roles to Poland by September next year.
The company also said it intended to transfer 22 roles in its business service department to a site in Romania by the end of next year.
The firm said it would undertake consultations with staff to minimise the number of redundancies.
“In line with Michelin’s core value of respect for people, the wellbeing of its employees will be a fundamental part of the process,” the company said.
“Michelin will ensure that impacted employees are the first to be informed of the conclusion of these talks.”
Michelin added that highly competitive markets in Europe required it to “extract as much value as possible from the market,” while continuing to work on ways to remain profitable in the UK and Ireland.
