Major London retail landlord Shaftesbury Capital has secured a heavyweight new independent non-executive director for its board, Sian Westerman.
She joins on 1 September and will also become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
Westerman is already an experienced non-exec in the privately held retail, fashion and beauty sectors with past and present experience including luxury accessories specialist Strathberry Holdings, niche premium department store chain Fenwick, and another big name in handbags, Anya Hindmarch.
In addition to those major businesses, she’s a non-exec at skincare brand Augustinus Bader and at anti-ageing specialist Lyma Life Limited.
There’s more too, as since 2014 she’s been a senior global advisor to Rothschild & Co where she previously held a number of senior executive roles specialising in retail and luxury M&A.
Then there’s her presence on the Executive Board of the British Fashion Council and much more.
So clearly an impressive presence on Shaftesbury Capital’s board as it continues to sign up major global fashion names to its estate in key parts of London such as Soho and Covent Garden.
At the same time as Westerman joins, Charlotte Boyle will step down as a non-exec. She joined the board in 2017 and the company said she’s “carried out a number of important roles over the years including making a significant contribution to the merger with Shaftesbury PLC and the subsequent successful integration of the businesses”.
Chairman Jonathan Nicholls said: “We are delighted to welcome Sian to Shaftesbury Capital. Her extensive expertise in the retail and luxury sectors will bring valuable insight to the board.
“I would like to thank Charlotte for her significant commitment and contribution over the past seven years. Her support, insight and expertise have been greatly valued and we wish her every success for the future.”
