Serious damage has been caused to a Dunelm store and its contents following a fire.
Firefighters were called to the Quedam Shopping centre in Yeovil at 17:12 BST on Sunday.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) said the fire, which has since been extinguished, had damaged 30% of the roof, with “all the contents of the building damaged by smoke and water”.
A cordon remains in place around the store and car park, while DSFRS and Avon and Somerset Police investigate the cause.
Adjacent buildings were checked and no smoke or fire damage was detected, DSFRS said.
A spokesperson for Quedam Shopping Centre said the fire had “caused serious damage to the site” but “nobody had been harmed”.
The Dunelm store, which sells homeware and furniture, is expected to remain closed until further notice, while the shopping centre reopened on Monday as normal.
