CAGLIARI have snapped up a promising young defender from the 11th tier of English football.
Going from the Gloucestershire County Football League to Serie A is not a well-trodden path.
But 18-year-old Jack Nunn is doing just that.
The rising star played for Stoke Gifford United last season and has also represented England colleges.
Nunn has been on trial with Cagliari since the start of pre-season and did enough to earn a contract.
He will link up with their Under-19s before pushing for a first-team place.
Cagliari finished 16th in Serie A last season – just one point above relegation.
Claudio Ranieri kept Cagliari up last season before deciding to hang up his clipboard and retire.
Davide Nicola is the new man in the dugout.
There is a long line of Brits who have moved to Italy including Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, David Beckham, Paul Gascoigne and Graeme Souness.
