Han Chong’s Self-Portrait label can always be relied upon to make an impact with its seasonal marketing campaigns and this season is no different.
He said that “when it came to this campaign, I wanted to play on this idea of celebrating women, and of highlighting the joy in owning your personality and beauty — this is our heightened version of feeling empowered in any situation”.
Working with Tina Barney, a photographer known for capturing “intimate portraits of real-life splendour and tradition with sensitivity”, they’ve created a campaign dubbed ‘Miss Self-Portrait’ starring Emily Ratajkowski.
We’re told it “celebrates the power and confidence that comes from self-expression and self-belief and captures the spirit at the heart of the London based fashion house — a brand designed for women who challenge tradition, embrace their individuality, and effortlessly claim their space in the spotlight”.
A series of candid portraits and videos are intended to reflect a “modern and playful approach to occasion dressing; portraying the women that influence and inspire Han Chong; those who don’t take themselves too seriously, and who find a great sense of joy from dressing up”.
The launch of this campaign also coincides with Tina Barney’s first-ever retrospective in Paris that has just opened at the Jeu de Pause.
This campaign is the second for Ratajkowski with the label following her appearance in the ‘At Home, with Self-Portrait’ series last year.
