Now, according to the airline’s website, passengers should expect to pay between £9.49 and £44.99 to add a 10kg check-in bag at the time of booking.
The cost varies based on the route and travel dates, so while some travellers might pay a bit less than before, those at the higher end of the scale will now be paying £15 more.
Adding a 10kg hold bag post-booking or at the airport has also seen an increase, now ranging from £23.99 to £44.99, up by £9 on the higher end.
On a more positive note for some travellers, the cost to add a 20kg check-in bag post-booking has slightly decreased, shifting from the previous £44.99 to £59.99 range to a new range of £39.99 to £59.99.
Additionally, it was reported last week that Ryanair has increased the fee range for upgrading to Priority boarding, which now costs between £20 and £60, up from the previous range of £20 to £38.
Some customers have voiced their frustration with Ryanair’s additional charges on social media. One user on X said: “Omg @Ryanair 40 quid for a 10kg hold bag, the absolutely disgusting price wouldn’t have been so bad for a 22kg hold, but that is disgusting, never again fly with you.”
Another said: “@Ryanair why are baggage charges so high?” And third posted: “Just avoid Ryanair if you can, they make EasyJet seem luxurious and customer friendly. They charge extra for *every* little thing, I’ll never use them again if there’s an alternative.”
Others have said they don’t mind paying extra for add-ons as the flights are still often cheaper than other airlines, as another X user said: “I bet it is still cheaper on Ryanair than other airlines, even with the additional charge.”
