Fashion industry veteran Rod Manley is to join Moncler as its new international chief brand officer.
Manley joins Moncler from Burberry, where he was chief brand officer until autumn 2024.
Manley will report in his new position to Gino Fisanotti, the luxury brand’s chief brand officer. He will be based in Paris but travel extensively in his new position.
Manley’s appointment is effective from today, Monday, Jan. 20, the hard charging executive confirmed to FashionNetwork.com.
While at Burberry, Manley worked with two designers – Riccardo Tisci and Daniel Lee. The latter is now rumored to be about to leave Burberry to join Jil Sander.
The tri-lingual Manley has an impressive CV. Prior to joining Burberry, he was executive vice president, influence marketing and communications at Calvin Klein for over three years until joining Burberry in December 2018.
Manley entered Calvin Klein after almost a decade at Giorgio Armani, beginning in Milan and then moving to New York to handle press in the United States.
British-born Manley began his career at KCD, the famed New York fashion PR firm, and training ground for many fashion executives.
His arrival comes after several quarters where Moncler has been buffeted by the international downtown in fashion and luxury spending. Analysts are predicting that the Italian-owned, but French-born brand will post flat growth in the latest fourth quarter.
