Rixo — the vintage-inspired British label that opened a New York City pop-up this spring — seems to have had a good experience in one of the world’s fashion capitals as it’s now making the store a permanent location.
The shop, at 19 Prince Street will officially transition into a permanent retail store “in response to the tremendous success and positive feedback from the local community and visitors since the store’s opening”.
The positive impact of the pop-up has contributed to an increase of 43% in direct sales (both store and e-commerce) in the US since it opened.
That’s an impressive number and Rixo said it marks “a pivotal moment” in the company’s international expansion journey as the brand approaches its 10-year anniversary.
“The establishment of a permanent store is just the beginning of a series of exciting moments Rixo has planned for the US market next year,” it said.
From September, the permanent store will showcase the label’s new AW24 collections, along with all future collections, bridal and exclusives.
In addition to the seasonal collections, Rixo is planning a line-up of in-store activations that will include monthly vintage pop-ups in the courtyard space curated in collaboration with local boutiques, as well as panel talks, and other events “designed to bring together fashion enthusiasts and the Rixo community”.
Co-founder and CEO Henrietta Rix said she’s looking forward to “deepening our connection with the community we’ve built there. Now feels like the perfect time to open a permanent store, having seen a 174% increase in direct US sales in the past 12 months. As female founders, with no external investment, we’re so proud of the success of the pop-up space and excited for all that’s to come for Rixo in the US market”.
