Premium fashion retailer Reiss has signed up for a store at Gateshead’s Metrocentre. It will open a 3,933 sq ft space in the Lower Red Mall in mid-November, offering its menswear, womenswear and accessories.
Last month it also made its South West England debut, opening its first-ever store in Gloucester at the popular Gloucester Quays shopping centre.
Meanwhile its arrival in Gateshead will diversify the fashion offer at the mall, providing customers with a more premium collection that the Metrocentre Partnership said “complements the existing retail in Red Mall”.
The new store will be close to popular names such as Zara, Flannels and Levi’s.
Ben Cox, Director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset manager of Metrocentre, said: “This signing is the latest demonstration of the progression of Red Mall in the last couple of years, a true home to international fashion brands.”
Other retail announcements for Metrocentre in recent months include the arrival of Mango and Sosandar, Footasylum upsizing and the start of a comprehensive refurbishment of River Island’s 25,000 sq ft store.
There are also plans to improve the overall mall with August seeing news of a planned £6 million spend on an upgrade to revitalise an area in and around its Green Mall entrance.
