Brighton is one of the UK’s most visited cities and it’s no surprise people love it so much. The city is constantly popping up on lists naming it one of the UK’s best places to live – and is known for its character and charm.
It can also be explored in just an afternoon, making it one of the most walkable cities in the UK, according to TimeOut. Visiting the pier is the top place to see while you’re there but there are lots of great traditional English seaside things to do.
Brighton is a bustling city with a range of independent shops and colourful buildings. It is best seen from the i360 viewing tower which provides aerial views of the city.
One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “The i360 is a smart, efficient and wonderful attraction that everyone should visit. It is reasonably priced and bookable online with a discount, this is well worth the time and money. There are fantastic views at every level and there is a bar on board.”
Yhe Lanes in Brighton are well known for their independent shops, you could spend hours walking around and dipping in and out of the shops.
One place worth visiting is Photomatic, this unique shop is mostly empty – all it includes is a few photo booths with props for people to take pictures. It’s a great way to remember your trip and the retro pictures you’ll get are completely unique to the store.
Of course you have to take a trip to the beach, while it might be a bit chilly to get in, it’s a great place to sit and watch the waves. There are a number of fish and chip shops nearby to grab dinner and there’s nothing quite like that good old English tradition.
If you’re looking to explore the history of the area, visiting the Royal Pavillion and Garden will make a great addition to your day.
