The trials, taking place between January and March 2025, are open to adult players aged 18 and older who are not currently in a pathway programme.
The sessions will give players the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to represent Oxfordshire at National Counties level.
Eligible players must meet specific criteria, including being England-qualified and currently playing at either Premier League, Feeder League, or Division 1 League level.
They must also have produced notable or significant performances within cricket at one of these levels over the past two seasons.
Additionally, applicants must believe they have the potential to represent Oxfordshire in either the women’s or men’s team at National Counties level.
To qualify as an England player, applicants must hold British citizenship, generally shown with a British passport, and must have completed a residency qualification period – living in England and Wales for the past three consecutive years.
Players will not be eligible if they have played cricket at under-17 level or above for any ICC full member county except England, or domestic first-class cricket in any full member country outside England and Wales, as a ‘local’ player, in the immediately preceding three consecutive years.
To be considered ‘home-grown’, players must either be part of the county age group within the Oxfordshire Pathway, be playing for a club within Oxfordshire, have been born in Oxfordshire, or have been educated at a school after the age of 13 or currently attending a university within Oxfordshire.
Once a player has left university, their home-grown status is removed for the following calendar year.
Players who do not meet the ‘home-grown’ criteria are considered ‘non-qualifying’.
Oxfordshire Cricket is now accepting applications from eligible players who believe they have the necessary skills to represent the county at National Counties level.
Adult players interested in applying can complete the application form by the end of January 13.
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend the open sessions and successful applicants will be contacted directly with further information and joining instructions ahead of the open sessions, which will take place independently for the women and men’s team during January and March.
Oxfordshire’s men’s team play in the NCCA Championship, which is a three-day competition, Western Region Division 1, the One Day Trophy, a one-day competition, in group one, and Twenty Twenty Cup in group four.
In recent years, the club’s women’s team has seen the likes of Ellie Noble, Sophie Mitchelmore, and Rachel Potter selected to attend the Southern Vipers Regional Development Centre.
