“Evolving” Epsom, Surrey, mall The Ashley Centre, has secured fashion lifestyle retailer Oliver Bonas to join its growing line-up in November.
Centre owner CBRE Investment Management, said the arrival of Oliver Bonas will help “drive forward the landlord’s aspirational leasing strategy”, which includes Next and the centre’s anchor, M&S.
The 2,390 sq ft store will showcase its full range of fashion, homewares, jewellery, furniture, and gifting with the interior layout designed by the brand’s specialist team.
Oliver Bonas founder Oliver Tress confirmed the opening, saying: “The Ashley Centre will be joining our portfolio of stores as we continue to grow our physical presence across the UK. This area is a key location, and one with a large catchment area for us to tap into and provides us with more opportunity to build our customer base in Surrey.”
Louisa Butters, head of Retail Asset Management UK at CBRE IM, added: “A key element of our strategy is to continue building the Ashley Centre’s aspirational brand mix. Complementing the centre’s extensive refurbishment, which is due to complete in the coming weeks, [this retailer advances] the centre’s position as a destination for prime retail and adds something new to the visitor experience.”
The announcement follows news that Primark is set to open a 44,000 sq ft store adjacent to the location’s central square, which is currently undergoing a £7 million refurbishment “to create a more modern and contemporary interior”. The store will open later in 2025, and is expected to create 100 jobs for the local community.
In the summer, major footwear brand Deichmann also opened a store at the Ashley Centre.
