Six months after his first show in Los Angeles, Doni Nahmias, founder of the Nahmias brand, has just opened his very first store in Venice. A boutique located at 1842 Washington Way, just a few steps from the cult Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
“Venice is iconic to California,” said Nahmias. “As a kid, I’d drive up from Santa Barbara to visit the skate park, walk around, or surf different points in Malibu. The fresh air and positive energy here are unmatched. I’m just happy to be part of this community. Opening the store still feels surreal. It’s slowly sinking in, and I’m incredibly grateful.”
Created in collaboration with two of his friends, Connor Tingley and Anthony Hart, the store’s design unveils a clean atmosphere and fresh aesthetic that feels comfortable and homey.
“The goal was to create an environment that helps people better understand the Nahmias identity and philosophy,” added Nahmias. “California’s surf and skate culture was a major influence, but I wanted it presented in an elevated, approachable way. With the skate park in the back and the basketball court in the parking lot, I wanted the space to be more than just a store. It’s a destination where people can immerse themselves in the world of Nahmias, hang out and have fun.”
Neighboring hat maker Nick Fouquet’s store, the Nahmias store looks to benefit from the attraction of Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice’s busiest shopping thoroughfare.
“The area is evolving into a hub of incredible talent and creativity,” continued Nahmias. “With brands like Hoorsenbuhs, Stahl+Band furniture and Jacques Marie Mage eyewear’s gallery, it’s becoming a must-visit destination for amazing shopping and unique brands.”
In addition to presenting the brand’s collections, the store will be launching a number of other activations in the coming weeks.
“This Saturday, we’re hosting a pop-up with rapper Ice Cube, and early next year, we’ll have a skate event in collaboration with skateboard brand, Shorty’s. Plenty of other activations are in the works, too. I want this space to foster community for the brand, offering unique experiences that attract new audiences and deepen awareness and love for Nahmias,” said Nahmias.
In regard to the brand’s retail strategy, Nahmias could, in the future, add to his Venice boutique other stores in the form of boutiques or pop-ups, like the last one organized in West Hollywood in partnership with Maxfield. “I definitely see more opportunities there in the future, as well as in Beverly Hills,” continued Nahmias. “We are also interested in the international market, and may open other stores in major cities such as London, New York, Milan and Paris.”
On the show front, the Nahmias brand, which has already shown in Paris several times, and notably presented its autumn/winter collection in January 2023, surprised its audience last June by staging its spring/summer 2025 show in Los Angeles at the Pan Pacific Park Gymnasium. After the Californian interlude, Nahmias has just announced his official return during Paris Fashion Week in June 2025.
