When travelling outside the UK, you often need a visa to go into certain countries.
Before you could fill out a form on the plane requesting a visa, however, now you have to be organised and apply for a visa before you enter certain countries.
Despite not thinking about this when going abroad we often forget how powerful our passport really is in the UK.
Now new research has found which passports are the most powerful in the world for 2024. This is according to the Henley Passport Index, which has released its recent rankings.
The team based their research on official data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 2006.
Although they update their lists four times a year, for July 2024 there are considerable changes since its January list.
The rankings are based on which countries can travel freely without the need for a visa.
Singapore was crowned as the top destination with the most visa-free destinations. The country has set a new record of 195 countries and earned them the top spot for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain, came joint second in the rankings with 192 visa-free destinations.
