Liverpool One is set to have its busiest Christmas in five years, with record numbers of visitors predicted during the festive period. The leading retail and entertainment destination says it’s expecting over four million visitors in the run up to Christmas, with the boost in visitors anticipated to top records set before the pandemic.
Liverpool One’s forecasting a 7% year-on-year increase in sales by the end of 2024, while footfall is expected to be 3% higher than 2023.
“Both place Liverpool One considerably ahead of national trends,” it said, quoting figures based on data from Shoppertrak and the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
It said a key driver of the anticipated performance is the ongoing evolution of the central Liverpool mall’s performance in the year so far, with 13 new brands opening. These include Montirex, TAG Heuer, AllSaints and Flight Club.
And the story is set to continue into 2025, with Sephora, Uniqlo and TFG London’s Hobbs, Phase Eight, Whistles and Inside Story making their debuts in the New Year.
Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director at Liverpool One, said: “Our achievements this year have set us up for what we anticipate will be our busiest festive season, surpassing performance figures since before the Covid-19 pandemic.”
