LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – Former Harlan County Black Bear Trent Noah made the most of his nine minutes and 18 seconds Wednesday night in Kentucky’s 123-52 exhibition onslaught of Kentucky Wesleyan.
Noah entered the game around the 10:00 minute mark of the second half and poured in 12 points on 4-5 shooting beyond the arc — including three back-to-back-to-back — along with two assists and one rebound.
“I settled in a little bit and just enjoyed the game,” Noah said. “I feel like that is what it is all about. I‘m so blessed to be here and wear the Kentucky jersey. Anytime I go out on the floor and do whatever I can to help the team win, that’s a win for me.”
Noah‘s points especially lit up the filled Rupp Arena crowd that was thrilled by the Harlan native’s three back-to-back-to-back triples.
The Cats shot 59.1% from three-point land in the second half and finished at a 50% clip as a team on the night.
Following the exhibition win, UK men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope praised Noah for his microwave-scoring ability.
“Yeah, Trent is not shy,” Pope said. “It is really great to have him on the floor and our guys love him.”
Kentucky returns to action inside Rupp Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 29 against Minnesota State Mankato at 7:00 p.m.
