Lindex Group has named Riku Lyly COO of its Stockmann department stores division and member of the group management team.
Lyly has has been the division’s interim COO since August and before this, he held the position of chief offering and experience officer of the division. He’s been with Lindex Group since 2021 and previously held leadership roles at Adidas in the Nordics and commercial roles in the XXL Sports & Outdoor e-commerce organisation.
Group CEO Susanne Ehnbåge said he has the ability “to lead and develop our department store business in a goal-oriented, visionary and collaborative manner. His strong international experience in brands, offering development and commercial strategy implementation is a great asset in further developing the Stockmann division’s business and profitability”.
And the now-permanent COO added that he will “continue our determined work to improve profitability and increase our focus on the strategic must-win areas – premium offering, loyal customers, omnichannel development and continuous improvement of operational efficiency”.
The division has been struggling against underperformance for some time and while it was the original focus of the company and the business was named after it, its changing status can be seen from the fact that the group recently changed its name to its higher-performing womenswear operation Lindex.
The Lindex unit has continued to outperform its stablemate for some time and is expanding internationally. For instance, it’s soon to open a new store at the giant Bluewater mall in Kent, UK.
