Austrian company Lenzing, a specialist in wood pulp-based cellulose fibres, has announced the appointment of Kit Ping Au-Yeung as Executive Vice President, Textile Business. Her predecessor Florian Heubrandner has been appointed Executive Vice President in charge of filaments.
Kit Ping Au-Yeung takes up her new role with decades of experience in the industry. She has worked for the Coats Group in commercial and operational management positions, at both national and global levels. She previously worked for the Amann Group.
The new manager will now be in charge of the development and expansion strategy for Lenzing’s textile offering. This includes industrial brands such as Tencel and Ecovero.
“Kit Ping’s vision is perfectly in line with Lenzing’s commitment to enable the production of fibres with a lower impact on the environment,” says CEO Stephan Sielaff. “Kit Ping will play a key role in the development of our core textile business, as we see huge growth opportunities in this sector. We are confident that the company will continue to succeed under his leadership.”
Lenzing’s shareholder base has undergone a significant change, with Brazilian company Suzano acquiring a 15% stake. The Austrian group generated sales of €2.5 billion in its 2023 financial year, down slightly on the previous year. Ebitda rose from €241 million to €303 million.
