The game wasn’t pretty, but just about everything else in New York City was around Christmas with Kentucky in town for the CBS Sports Classic. That brought KSR up to the Big Apple for the weekend, riding buses and subways over to Midtown to soak in all of the lights, trees, ice skating and celebrations alongside Big Blue Nation.
I was joined by Steven Peake where we got hundreds of thousands of steps in checking out everything NYC had to offer — including the 2024 ball drop at Times Square set to bring in 2025 next week — while also eating the best tacos we’ve ever had at Los Tacos No. 1. Then we pregamed at Jack Demsey’s, hanging out with Kentucky fans before the big game (and not knowing the beatdown that would be waiting for us inside Madison Square Garden that night).
How did that part feel in real time? That’s where Peake comes in, highlighting those emotions with some highs and more lows as we watched the 20-point butt whooping unfold. You get a behind-the-scenes look with coaches, players and fans you just won’t find anywhere else, followed by commentary on the loss that included an all-time rant on why Peake hates MSG.
The loss was not fun, but New York was — and we worked hard on the video, so it’d mean a lot to us if you watched it. Please? Thank you in advance.
We’ll work harder to bring you back a win next time around.
