The Kentucky Wildcats are eyeing Acaden Lewis, the top prospect from the DC area.
Kentucky, which has a commitment from one of the best guards in the class of 2025, Jasper Johnson, is still aiming for more depth at the position.
Lewis is the sixth-best combo guard in the class and the 33rd-best player nationally in the class of 2025, per 247 Sports. He’s already taken official visits to North Carolina and Michigan and has offers from a slew of other programs. He has visited Duke, Syracuse, and many other programs unofficially.
Some thought that Kentucky landing Johnson would take them out of the race for Lewis, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
According to Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio, Pope has been reaching out to Lewis, and the guard is still planning an official visit.
NEW: Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has been in contact with Acaden Lewis since Jasper Johnson’s commitment.
The 4-star guard still plans to take an official visit to Kentucky this fall.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard could be useful for Pope, especially as he continues to look to get new talent to Lexington. Pope didn’t have much, or any, hangover from last year’s roster.
Given John Calipari’s exodus, Pope was starting from scratch and turned to the transfer portal for much of the talent.
The Cats should have a good, deep, and defensively-talented roster. In the coming seasons, though, especially with Johnson and Malachi Moreno in the class of 2025, Pope is keeping in-state talent at Kentucky and bringing in some of the best players.
Kentucky isn’t going anywhere and should continue to be among the most well-respected programs in the country.
