Your University of Kentucky Wildcats touched down in New York City on Thursday afternoon, two days shy of their game against Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic on Saturday. The early arrival allowed for some free time in the city, including an evening stroll through the bright lights in Times Square and tickets to see Hamilton, considered one of the best Broadway musicals of all time.
The Wildcats’ trip to the Richard Rodgers Theatre was no ordinary Broadway experience. After the play, the team stayed behind to meet the cast on stage. Photos from @KentuckyMBB show the players exploring the Hamilton set and hanging with the Schuyler Sisters in the room where it happens.
As anyone who has seen Hamilton knows, the team will now spend the next several months singing all of the songs, which will live in their heads. My guess is they’ll lead off with “Wait For It” in the locker room on Saturday. It probably speaks to them because, like Aaron Burr, they were also willing to wait for it (wait for it, wait for it).
