Insurance brokerage JMG Group has brought in Simon Townsend (pictured) as regional managing director for the South of England.
Townsend’s appointment is part of JMG Group’s strategic expansion, following its recent acquisitions of several brokers in the South. His primary responsibility will be to support these new additions, ensuring they fully benefit from being part of the wider group.
“I’m committed to empowering businesses and supporting our people to be the best they can be. Joining JMG Group presents a fantastic opportunity for me to continue this mission.”
The new regional managing director also went on to cite his reasons for coming on board.
Townsend noted: “My decision to join JMG Group was largely influenced by the calibre of its senior team – some of whom I have worked with in the past – and the growth journey they are on.
“I’m excited to share my experience of leading successful companies, and I’m looking forward to helping our acquired businesses to seamlessly integrate into the JMG Group family, while I support their organic growth.”
Group chief executive Nick Houghton, reflecting on previous collaborations, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter.
“Having worked with Simon before, he was always on my radar to work with again – as he’s one of us, a terrific chap,” Houghton declared. “I’m so proud that as we grow, we create opportunities for great people to join the team. And I know the businesses Simon supports will enjoy his infectious enthusiasm and experience.”
Placing more than £280 million of premium annually, JMG Group operates with a team of over 600 across 30 offices in the UK.
