As the action continues at Prestbury Park on Saturday for day two of the Showcase Meeting, we’ve for the key Cheltenham trends and stats for the five LIVE ITV races.
The ITV Racing cameras are taking in five races from the Saturday Cheltenham Showcase Meeting, plus are also taking in races at Newbury and Doncaster – with the last-named including the final Group One of the flat season in Britain – the Futurity Trophy Stakes.
Back to the Prestbury Park action though and we’ve got the main Cheltenham trends to help you find the best profiles based on past winners of each of the LIVE ITV races.
The opening contest at 1:10pm has, however, only had three previous renewals but with the in-form Nigel Twiston-Davies yard winning the prize last year their former International Hurdle winner Guard Your Dreams is sure to be popular with the best horse racing betting sites in the UK.
While, with a 25% strike-rate with his chasers at Cheltenham, Irish trainer Gavin Cromwell’s runners should be respected too through the card. He’s got Dutch Schultz here in the opener.
Next up is the 1:45 – a Novices Hurdle and all eyes here will be on the recent Persian War Novices’ Hurdle second Intense Approach, who hails from the John McConnell yard that have won this race twice since 2020.
Champion jockey Harry Cobden also keeps the ride in a race he’ll be looking to win for the first time.
Onto the 3m1f Handicap Chase at 2:20pm next and this is a race the Irish have won twice in the last three runnings.
It could also feature Broadway Boy, who ran well behind Flooring Porter at this meeting last year and loves Cheltenham with form figures of 2-1-1 here.
It could also pay to keep an eye on the Kim Bailey runner – Does He Know – with the yard in flying form at the moment.
At 2:55pm we’ve the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle and with a 36% strike-rate with her hurdles at the track – the Lucy Wadham runner Zain Night will have this Cheltenham trend on its side.
It could also pay to note that 10 of the last 15 winners of this race carried 10-13 or less in weight and had also raced at Cheltenham in the past.
The final race on the Cheltenham ITV Racing schedule on Saturday is the Materson Holdings Hurdle at 3:30pm. This race will feature Givemefive, who is owned by top golfers Brooks Koepka and Graeme McDowell
Both will face a stern test in the improving Irish raider Bottler’secret, who comes over from the Gavin Cromwell yard and caught the eye on his last run at Punchestown in May when second to the useful Kargese.
