On Tuesday, the High Commission of India in London released a travel advisory, urging its citizens to exercise caution while traveling to the United Kingdom due to recent protests and violence in the country.
“Indian travelers are aware of recent disturbances in some parts of the United Kingdom. The High Commission of India in London is closely monitoring the situation.
Visitors from India should remain vigilant and exercise due caution while traveling in the UK. It is advisable to follow local news and advisories issued by local security agencies and to avoid areas where protests are underway,” the advisory stated.
The advisory emphasized the importance of avoiding protest areas to ensure personal safety.
This advisory came in response to a series of violent protests erupting in various parts of the UK, causing disruptions and raising safety concerns for both residents and visitors.
The UK is experiencing its most severe riots since 2010, with unrest spreading across multiple cities nationwide. The disturbances, sparked by false rumors surrounding the tragic deaths of three young girls, have been further inflamed by far-right provocateurs. Authorities face immense pressure to quell the violence and restore order.
The riots, which began in response to “disturbances linked to child murders,” have rapidly spread to major urban centers such as Liverpool, Manchester, and Leeds. Misinformation about the nature of the killings has significantly fueled the unrest, with far-right agitators exploiting the situation to incite further violence. Consequently, protesters have clashed with police forces, leading to a deterioration of public safety and security.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kenya have issued warnings and advisories to their nationals about the far-right riots across the UK. Previously, Nigeria, Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia issued warnings against UK travel amid the riots.
