The exclusive resort of Sandbanks in Dorset is known for its beautiful harbour and blue-flag beach, as well as a host of celebrity residents. Though it is a popular destination for UK holidays and staycations, Britons hoping to relocate to the beach location could be looking at a high price tag according to new findings.
The property experts at GetAgent delved into the data from their annual Sellers Report to reveal the most expensive and most affordable British seaside towns. As a result, they have named Sandbanks the “most expensive seaside town” to buy a property in the UK right now.
According to their data, the average price of a property in Sandbanks sits at £1,487,478. Rightmove’s data shows similar figures, with properties in Sandbanks having an overall average price of £1,315,597 over the last year.
“The majority of sales in Sandbanks during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £883,910,” notes Rightmove.

Experts from GetAgent said: “Topping the list as the most expensive seaside location is Sandbanks in Poole, home to the iconic soft sandy beach, complemented by beautiful blue waters.
“Nestled along the Dorset coastline, this UK destination is a stunning location for those hoping for a more slow-paced life, although the exclusive area does come with a big price tag, with average properties selling for a staggering £1.4 million.”
Sandbanks is a golden stretch that juts out into Poole Harbour, with the beach running the length of the peninsula. The harbour and bay offer great spots for water sports and activities, including boating and paddle boarding.
The beach has held a Blue Flag award for 35 years and the water is safe for swimming.
Sandbanks is also home to a number of highly regarded restaurants and hotels, including Rick Stein’s Sandbanks Restaurant.
