A YouTuber visited a Christmas market dubbed the “worst” by some reviewers – and he said it was not as bad as he had expected.
The video creator, who goes by the name of ‘CharlieVlogs’ on YouTube, travelled from London to Swansea to visit the market.
Swansea’s “Waterfront Winterland” is an annual festive tradition which brings thousands of tourists to the city each year.
After arriving at the market, he found that a burger costs £8 which he said was “definitely a bit expensive”.
His friend tried the burger and said it was “not worth £8 but still nice.”
He then browsed the selection of games and stalls available in the Welsh market.
Charlie said: “They say online that this is the worst Christmas market in the whole of the UK – I don’t know, it looks alright to me. It doesn’t look that bad.”
He also tried one of the rides for £4, noting that in London this would have cost more likely around £10.
Charlie considered playing one of the games but after realising it was £5 decided not to.
He concluded: “To be honest, I wouldn’t say it’s the worst in the UK.”
Swansea Christmas market has an ice-skating rink, a selection of rides and games, along with a variety of food stalls. Its ice rink can be booked online in advance, reports Wales Online.
The standard adult ticket is priced at £14 and at £11 for a child aged three to 14.
Student tickets and blue light tickets are priced at £12, whereas a daily ticket for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children, costs £40.
Prices can vary for Christmas Eve and off-peak sessions, which can be found on the event website.
If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat at the market and want to try something festive, you can have Yorkshire pudding wrap, which costs £8.
