Many of us often fantasise about a Caribbean getaway, but for most, such an extravagant journey may not be financially viable for our summer holidays.
However, you can still get a taste of the tropical paradise without breaking the bank by having a staycation and visiting one of Britain’s own exotic havens.
A video on the Facebook account @adventure. amore shows some breathtaking views of Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens in Dorset, a stunning botanical paradise reminiscent of a more tropical destination.
Overlay text in the video asks: “Do you want to visit the Caribbean without leaving the UK? This tropical paradise is closer than you think. This is Abbostbury Subtropical Gardens.”
The caption further tantalises with the promise: “Whether you’re captivated by the colourful explosion of hisiscus reminiscent of a Caribbean sunset or the tranquil bamboo groves echoing the serene temples of Bali, Abbostbury offers an unforgettable sensory journey.”
Alongside this, they assure viewers that the gardens are so beautiful, their friends will be convinced it’s Bali, and encourage them to “Escape to this enchanting garden and let its exotic beauty leave you spellbound.”
The same user has posted a detailed video about Abbotsbury on Instagram. They gave even more detail in the caption, writing: “Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, located in Dorset, England, is a renowned horticultural treasure that spans over 30 acres of stunning landscape.
“Established in 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester, the gardens boast a rich diversity of exotic plants from around the world, thriving in the unique microclimate provided by the nearby Jurassic Coast.
“Visitors can explore winding paths through lush vegetation, discover rare and endangered species, and enjoy seasonal displays of vibrant flora. The gardens also feature charming architectural elements, such as a Victorian summerhouse and a serene lily pond, making it a captivating destination for nature enthusiasts and garden lovers alike.”
