H&M has teamed up with Central Saint Matins again for the global fashion giant’s Sustainable Fashion and Journalism award that will provide four grants for fashion design and journalism students.
The award aims to support emerging designers and journalists to “encourage the next generation of fashion leaders to further engage with sustainability and accelerate the shift to circular fashion”.
It has been running since 2021 and H&M said it has committed to supporting the award for the next two years.
The four winners, three from Central Saint Martins’ BA Fashion Design course and one from its BA Fashion Communication: Journalism course, will share a £16,000 grant to be used in their final graduate collections and projects. It will also include additional support in mentorship and networking opportunities from H&M’s head office team.
The applicants will be judged on their alignment with H&M’s values and ongoing Inclusion & Diversity work and Central Saint Martins’ own policies.
The selection panel will consist of course leaders at Central Saint Martins and senior leaders in the H&M Design Team. Winners will be announced in April 2025.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of Design, said: “This collaboration empowers the next generation of fashion creatives and leaders, as they advance their careers and supports their efforts in fostering a sustainable future for fashion.”
