A TikTok video has gone viral after a user praised a Cornish beach as among the UK’s most beautiful.
The user, known on the platform as @wnmano or June, found herself completely enchanted by Porthcurno Beach during her summer visit, gushing about its immaculate white sands and the soaring cliffs encompassing the vibrant turquoise waves, Cornwall Live reported.
Completely taken with its natural allure, June shared her excitement in a video with the ecstatic caption: “Cannot believe this is the UK, water was so clear!”
Her clip has caused quite a stir online, amassing a staggering 315,600 views and earning 40,400 likes, provoking users to express their amazement in the comments section, stunned by the remarkable coastal beauty adorning British lands.
One user, Mollena, joined the chorus of praise, saying: “Porthcurno is gorgeous,” while Ayy Lmao, who formerly lived in the area, commented with nostalgia: “I used to live there, had a truly blessed summer on that beach every day.”
A Cornwall local, Oceanna, expressed regional pride, stating: “Proud to be born and bred in Cornwall,” reports the Mirror.
The viral video even appeared as a divine signal to some, with RK musing: “Seen two cornwall beach tiktoks in 4 minutes so I’m taking this as a sign,” and A+C offering a lighthearted comparison: “How is that in the same country as Bradford.”
In a remarkable endorsement of its allure, Porthcurno Beach has scooped up an accolade in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travellers Choice Awards, perfectly complemented by a pristine five-star rating thanks to the raving reviews it received from visitors.
Holidaymaker Hayley was effusive in her praise on Tripadvisor, stating: “Just stunning. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. First time at Porthcurno and will definitely be returning. Just hope it doesn’t rain this time.”
Another delighted visitor, Holly Munn, shared her glowing thoughts: “A must do on your trip to Cornwall. Parking is difficult so plan ahead. The sea positively sparkles in the sunlight. It’s one of the most picturesque spots on the island.”
Adding to the chorus of approval, Lainey posted a shining review: “Spent the day here, it’s just like being abroad, clear blue skies, water, perfect sandy beach and so peaceful. No arcades, no boats, no noise, just gorgeous.
“There is a little snack van in the car park and a nice little cafe beside the car park but is probably best to take your own snacks. Lifeguard is on duty in the bay. It is worth the trek down to the beach from the car park.”
The historic Minack Theatre also beckons from a stone’s throw away from the stunning coastline. The famous open-air theatre and its vibrant gardens filled with tropical and exotic plants, continue to draw crowds looking for culture amidst their coastal adventures in Cornwall.
For those who enjoy a good stretch, Porthcurno Beach offers more than just a spot for sunbathing.
It’s linked to the National Trust’s Porthcurno circular walk, a route that boasts expansive sea views, insights into World War Two defences, and encounters with other significant relics.
After working up an appetite, adventurers won’t have to travel far for a bite to eat. The Porthcurno Beach Cafe is conveniently located just up the road from the beach.
This charming cafe serves classic Cornish pasties, delicious flatbread pizzas, fresh sandwiches, and the traditional Cornish Cream Tea – complete with locally-sourced scones, rich clotted cream, strawberry jam, all perfectly paired with a hot pot of tea.
