Kentucky basketball season is just around the corner, and with it comes high school recruiting visits to Lexington. Most recently, it was Caleb Wilson — a 6’9 power forward ranked No. 8 in the 2025 recruiting class — who visited Mark Pope and the UK staff.
This weekend, Kentucky plays host to not one but two top recruits. Both Chris Cenac and Mikel Brown Jr. will make their official visit to Kentucky as part of their recruitment.
Cenac, a 6’10 center, ranks No. 10 in the class with several other Southeastern Conference schools also interested in bringing him to their campus. In addition to UK, he has ties to Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee. He’s been connected to Houston, too. He visited Auburn last weekend and Tennessee the weekend before with a visit to LSU scheduled for November.
Brown ranks a bit higher than Cenac, coming in at No. 7 in the 2025 class. Like his fellow classmate, the 6’3 point guard is drawing some significant SEC interest from both Alabama and Ole Miss. He’s also been connected to Indiana (visited two weeks ago) as well as UCF.
Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno lead the country’s top recruiting class for 2025, and landing either of these two (or even Wilson, mentioned above) would further bolster that class. Keep in mind that freshmen Travis Perry and Trent Noah also intend to be multi-year players at Kentucky, further enriching the immediate future of Kentucky basketball.
Kentucky football is on the road this week at Ole Miss, but there is always plenty to see and do in Lexington. Join us in welcoming both Chris and Mikel to the bluegrass state!
