The 90-minute class at Cirencester Leisure Centre was held on September 27 in aid of the Cirencester & Stroud Branch of Parkinson’s UK.
The Freedom Leisure venue has partnered with the branch to offer fitness support to members.
£578 was raised through the class, which was held by leisure centre fitness instructor Becca Wilkins.
“Parkinson’s UK is a charity I chose to help because unfortunately, my dad was diagnosed six years ago,” Becca said.
“He’s amazing. He’s still very active and plays golf – a lot slower, he has said, but he’s still doing it, and that makes me so proud.
“He lives in Australia so unfortunately, I’m unable to help him the way I’d love to, so I’ve channelled that help into doing this charity spinning class.
“I believe any movement is so good for helping people with Parkinson’s.
“Being a GP referral instructor, I have seen first-hand how exercise can be so beneficial to those with Parkinson’s.
“It’s not just the exercise – the social interaction can do wonders.”
