FAYETTEVILLE, AR. (WYMT) – Former Kentucky forward Adou Thiero is following John Calipari to Arkansas.
Thiero, who averaged 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his second season with the Wildcats, entered the transfer portal in March. His statement on social media in March reads as follows:
“After talking to Coach Calipari, I feel it is best at this time to test the waters professionally, entering my name in the 2024 NBA Draft, while keeping all my options open, including a return to Kentucky. I’d like to thank the fans, my coaches and teammates for their support over the last two years. I look forward to going through this process to determine the next step for me.”
The 6-foot-8 Pennsylvania native is a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Thiero is the fifth player UK player to follow Calipari to Fayetteville. He joins incoming freshmen Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Billy Richmond and rising sophomore center Zvonimir Ivisic.
