Emirates has announced Jabr Al-Azeeby as its new divisional vice president in the UK, replacing Richard Jewsbury who has taken up a new Dubai-based role with the airline.
Al-Azeeby has worked for Emirates for more than 15 years, including VP roles in India, Pakistan and most recently Saudi Arabia.
He takes over the UK operation as Emirates prepares to resume daily flights from Edinburgh on 4 November for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic – the Scottish capital will become the airline’s eighth UK destination served from its Dubai base.
“The United Kingdom is one of Emirates’ most important operations, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the team locally to continue the momentum of the past few years, as well as bringing my experience of the Middle East market to the region,” said Al-Azeeby.
Al-Azeeby takes up his new role after Jewsbury was promoted from his UK position to become Emirates’ executive VP of corporate and customer experience planning in March. Al-Azeeby now reports to Thierry Aucoc, who is Emirates’ senior vice president commercial operations in Europe.
