Meanwhile, India are leading the five-match T20I series by 2-1, ahead of the fourth T20I scheduled to be played on Friday, January 31 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The Men in Blue won the first two matches of the rubber in Kolkata and Chennai. However, England made a remarkable comeback by winning the third game held in Rajkot.
The Three Lions batted first and posted a score of 171/9 in 20 overs, led by a half century from Ben Duckett (51 off 28). India wrist spinner Varun Chakravarthy (5/24) picked up his second five wicket haul as England batters continued to struggle against his variations. In reply, India’s chase never got going as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and could only reach 145/9 in their 20 overs.
As a result, England won the game by 26 runs and managed to register their first victory of the series. Having made a comeback in the series, Jos Buttler-led side will be eager to continue their winning run in the fourth T20I as well.
