If you’re frustrated with the limited space while travelling, there’s a useful tip that you may want to consider. MSE (moneysavingexpert.com) has suggested a method that can increase your hand luggage allowance – and all you need to do is make use of one item.
The money gurus are reminding travellers that easyJet strictly enforces their luggage limit – unless you opt for additional baggage and pay for it. This means you’re typically allowed only one piece of hand luggage, such as a rucksack, handbag, or laptop bag.
However. the experts say that a “loophole” exists which enables you to bring a second bag on board for free. And it’s related to post-security shopping.
MSE clarifies that in addition to the hand luggage permitted on the plane. According to its website the airline also allows one duty-free shopping bag.
This means there is a way of taking extra items aboard. And if you do it at the right time it won’t cost you a penny in additional luggage fees.
On its website, easyJet say: “You’re allowed to bring some extra things into the cabin. e.g. umbrella, overcoat, crutches, walking stick, one standard bag of goods bought at the airport.”
This means that if you have bought items after security, you will now have some room for a few more items to take on the plane with you. The Money Saving Expert site says that some passengers say that by doing this, they can take items that won’t fit in their hand luggage.
